Occurrence of underground waters in the municipality of Montes Claros - MG: a case study using geotechnology
Abstract
The study of groundwater, with globalization, takes on an increasingly significant importance, since it is understood as an instrument capable of providing a solution to problems of water supply. Through certain tools it is possible to synthesize the geographic space and improve the study of this resource. Therefore, this work had as objective to verify the occurrence of groundwater in the municipality of Montes Claros-MG, in order to expand the hydrogeological knowledge of the region. The methodology was based on a qualitative-quantitative research with a descriptive character, through a case study carried out in the municipality with the use of Geoprocessing tools. The results were satisfactory in the use of Geotechnology, since relevant data were obtained from the region under study, such as groundwater mapping, drilling wells and local topography. It can be concluded that this study allowed the contribution and the technical support to the public policies for the management of the municipality's water resources
